ESSENTIAL OILS CAN BE USED IN MANY WAYS
Here are the ways we use essential oils on a regular basis:
Directly where the need is. In the essential oil world, we call this applying the oil ‘neat’. For example, if you have pulled a muscle, you would apply the essential oil right on location of the pulled muscle.
Typically we suggest putting a few drops of an oil such as Peppermint, on a cotton ball or tissue, straight out of the bottle, in a small bottle of dead sea salts as a personal inhaler, or in a personal inhaler with a cotton wick. Inhale for a time, as needed for a pick-me-up, calm-me-down, or whatever you’re in need of.
Most pure essential oils, with the exception of Cinnamon, Thyme and Oregano – are perfect for diffusion, emitting a wonderful healing aroma. Lavender is ideal for baby’s room. Lemon, Orange or Grapefruit are great for a fresh, just-cleaned scent!
Selecting a particular essential oil, blending 10-20 drops with an ounce of a high quality carrier oil, such as Almond, Grapeseed or Jojoba Oil, and using it for a massage or body rub, is both healing and heavenly!
Apply several drops of oil on desired location. Cover with a hot, damp towel, place a second, dry towel over to help retain the heat. You may wish to cover or wrap the area with plastic. If the “heat” or “tingle” of the oil becomes uncomfortable, apply carrier oil to reduce the intensity. In some cases heat is contraindicated. Use of essential oils with cold compresses is also very effective.
Great way to replace chemically laden room fresheners. The anti-viral, anti-bacterial benefits, as well as the mood-enhancing aroma make this a GREAT way to use essential oils in your home!
IN THE BATH
Combine 10-15 drops essential oil or oil blend with ¼ – ½ cup of Dead Sea Salts, dissolve in warm bathwater. The unique therapeutic properties of the essential oils and salts transform an ordinary bath into a restorative home spa experience.

NATURAL ORAL CARE
Whether you’re creating your own tooth paste, natural tooth whitener, oral rinse to promote gum healing, or just freshen your breath for the day, there are many essential oil solutions to promote healthy teeth, gums, and over-all oral health.
PRE-SUN AND AFTER SUN CARE
Most commercially available sunscreens are toxic and block the healing rays of the sun. When you or your children be exposed to the sun for long periods of time, or the sun will be especially intense, use a skin-nourishing, non-toxic sun screen; we have great DIY recipes for you. In times when your skin has been kissed by the sun a bit too intensely, there are simple, easy-to-assemble skin healing solutions.
NON TOXIC REPELLANTS & AFTER CARE
Proven to be neurotoxins, commercial insect repellants are another serious toxic assault to your body. For times when you need protection from insects, whether for baby, mama or anyone else in the family, there are simple, easy to assemble, non-toxic, highly- effective essential oil solutions. Should a bug manage to get to you, there are also simple, easy to use solutions to promote rapid healing while preventing the crazy itching that can accompany bites.
There are occasional times when we will use 2 – 3 drops of an essential oil in a veggie capsule, and take it internally for a specific therapeutic need.
Create your own refreshing, health-enhancing breath spray. Carry it in your pocket, handbag, or brief case. Keep it in your desk at work. Pleasant, effective, kills bad-breath germs naturally.
FOOD PREP & PRESERVATION
Add essential oils to your food, usually after it’s fully cooked, or as a great flavoring in dressings, sauces, frostings, and much more! Essential oils can also help with natural food preservation.
Each morning after showering, apply your chosen oil or oils for the day to the soles of your feet; 1-2 drops will work wonders, boost your immunity, relieve congestion, keep you calm and cool in stressful times, and help you navigate the daily ups and downs of your life!
PERFUME or COLOGNE
Essential oils are a much healthier – and definitely superior – alternative to synthetic fragrances and body sprays. Apply pure, individual therapeutic essential oils to pulse points, or create your own personal fragrance by layering an oil or three.
Essential oils blended with vinegar, water, bicarb, and/or organic household cleaning concentrates can create powerful cleaning solution that are effective yet safe for family, babies, pets and Mama Earth.
HOUSEHOLD GERM KILLER
Most essential oils create an unfriendly environment to germs and bacteria. A few specific essential oils have proven to be more effective than toxic synthetic germ killing products in today’s marketplace. Use essential oils to de-germ baby’s room for laundry care, and more.

PERSONAL ENERGY MANAGEMENT
Whether you’re wanting to enhance your ability to focus, lift your spirits, or downgrade anxiety that’s ramping up, essential oils will support you beautifully.
For an at-home DIY pore-opening steam, or deep respiratory-rescue, place a large pot of clean filtered water on the back burner of the stove. Bring the water to a high simmer. Remove from heat source by carefully sliding it forward to a cool burner. Drop 5-6 drops of desired essential oil onto the water. Carefully create a steam ‘tent’ with a clean bath towel by covering your head and letting the towel drape around the sides of the pot of hot water. Inhale deeply for respiratory-rescue. Steam and sweat for pore-opening facial care. Use this method with great care for all who are in the house-hold.
FLAVOR DRINKING WATER
At a trace of selected, appropriate* essential oils to a glass jar** of filtered or distilled water. Shake well. Enjoy!
Add one scant drop of appropriate* essential oil to 1 teaspoon raw organic honey. Stir well in the glass/porcelain** tea cup. Pour hot tea water over the honey mixture. Stir well. Enjoy.
